Surrounded in Isolation
The artist/veteran, Glenn Fitzpatrick A.K.A. Fitzy, has post-traumatic stress disorder and was concerned that the isolation of lockdown could be detrimental to his physical and mental health. Fitzy finds himself to be a very social person and so to cope with the loneliness of Covid-19 restrictions, he decided to draw portraits of his friends and family.
After drawing 50 portraits Fitzy decided to create a gallery in his living room; by doing this he could surround himself with people that he admires and loves. Titled Surrounded in Isolation, Fitzy's studies resulted in an evolution of medium, portraiture and the discovery of people that would be there for him in a time of unprecedented loneliness, separation and isolation. |
